Tekdesk provides a broad range of technology support services to non-profits and community organizations, and is equipped with a comprehensive computer lab to help our clients with computer related issues.

Tekdesk is a charitable organization established in 2001 to support public libraries and public Internet access sites. Since its inception, Tekdesk has expanded its mandate to providing consultation, training and technology solutions to local and provincial agencies. While most of Tekdesk’s services are provided on a fee-for-service basis, funding for the creation of major projects such as the Internet Safety Collaborative has been generously provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Upcoming Internet and Technology Safety Training

Funded generously by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Tekdesk is currently creating a comprehensive internet and technology safety training course entitled the Internet Safety Collaborative. Geared towards caregivers of vulnerable populations, the project will help bridge the gap between technical language and tangible risk assessment for clients. More about the project can be found here.

Upon completion, the Internet Safety Collaborative training will be available on a fee-for-service basis. Your agency may opt to:

•  Have representatives undergo in-person training with a Tekdesk internet safety specialist. This one-day “train-the-trainer” course involves a full run through of the training modules, along with the opportunity to have any questions answered. Once your representatives have completed the training, they may be given access to the online training modules for the rest of your agency.

•  Receive access to the online training modules without undertaking the in-person training.

•  Have a Tekdesk staff member present a workshop or lecture on internet safety at your organization.
